Chelsea star Eden Hazard To Join Real Madrid in January
Spanish giant, Real Madrid are ready to make Chelsea
superstar, Eden Hazard their next big signing, according to Spanish media.
The Belgium playmaker who is in top form has been long admired by Los Blancos, who bought Thibaut Courtois away from Stamford Bridge in the last transfer window.
According to Marca, they will utilise the same ploy with Hazard. Dubbed ‘The Hazard Plan’, Real hope to exploit the Belgian’s contract situation in order to get him relatively cheaply.
Chelsea ace, Eden Hazard has planned to force Chelsea to sell him to Real Madrid by refusing to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium international spoke out about his future last weekend, admitting he was torn between staying at the West London club and joining Madrid.
Hazard was keen to sign for the La Liga giants last summer, but his transfer was sidelined due to goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois’s decision to leave the Blues.
Spanish outlet, Marca is now reporting that Hazard does not intend to force Chelsea into a corner in the same way Courtois did, but is confident he can manufacture the move by declining any contract extensions from the club.
Hazard’s contract at Chelsea will expire in 2020, and Chelsea will have to choose whether to sell him or lose him on a free transfer before he enters the final year of his contract at the end of 2019 season.
Hazard, who is currently the leading goalscorer in the Premier League, has scored seven goals for Maurizio Sarri’s side this season..
The 27-year-old wants to leave the club on good terms and has no interest in signing for any club other than Madrid.
AS also reported that the La Liga giants have made Hazard their primary target for the winter transfer window. The Spanish publication also says that almost 85 percent of supporters want him to be signed in January.
Hazard’s contract is up in the summer of 2020 and last weekend he said he is willing to open negotiations.
If they come to me, then I will talk,’ said Hazard of Real’s interest after scoring his eighth goal of the season in a 3-0 win at Southampton on Sunday. ‘I could talk now.’
